Andy Reid comforted teen who was at Chiefs parade shooting: âHe was hugging meâ
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was on hand to comfort fans after a shooting at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade left one dead and more than 20 injured.
Gabe Wallace shared the 65-year-old coach offered his assistance in the aftermath of the shooting.
“Andy Reid was trying to comfort me, which was nice,” Wallace told “The Kansas City Star.” “He was kind of hugging me, just like, ‘Are you OK, man? Are you OK? Just please breathe.’ He was being real nice and everything.”

Wallace said Reid comforted him inside Union Station after a security guard directed him inside.
The teenager also added Reid “left to check on other people.”
“The security guard was like, ‘Get over the damn fence right now. There’s a shooter,’ ” Wallace told the outlet.
Authorities in Kansas City are trying to decipher who was behind the mass shooting that unfolded Wednesday amid throngs of people at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration, where 21 people were wounded — including at least eight children — and a mother of two was killed.
Three people were detained and firearms were recovered during the mayhem, police said. But investigators are calling for witnesses, people with cellphone footage and victims of the violence to call a dedicated hotline.
Police Chief Stacey Graves said Wednesday evening that investigators were still piecing together what happened and did not release details about those who were detained or a possible motive.
